The global economic growth had reached an impasse in mid eighteenth century it had been based on a system of manual labor. The great economic progress occurred with the emergence of capitalism where the Industrial Revolution brought the economy to grow now based on technological advancement. Productivity led to decrease poverty and that people were employed. The alternative before the industrial revolution was an extreme socialism: all were poor and had no hope of improving their standard of living.

It's the same socialist ideology mixed with corruption of governments and political parties that have plunged the country into poverty.
Liberalism has never been applied in the nation and is associated with poor economic and social deployment public policies described as "free market." If there is no rule of law is not liberalism.
